ISLAMABAD — Pakistan grapples with escalating attacks by local Taliban branches, and experts warn that political turmoil in the country is jeopardizing the government’s response.
Islamist violence in the northwest has continued to worsen over the past two months. Since November 16 alone, more than a dozen people have been killed in attacks allegedly claimed or perpetrated by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). New attacks take place almost daily in the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
